About Kristen Eliason
Kristen won a blue ribbon for visual arts in her kindergarten Reflections contest, and the rest is history.
Kristen Eliason is an abstract artist working primarily in acrylic, mixed media, and occasionally watercolor. She paints as a meditative form of creation, and her work explores deep emotional connections. She enjoys working on large format pieces that require a more physical approach to painting, and she's often inspired by music, literature, and life.
A multidisciplinary artist, Kristen is also published poet and a vocal performance student. She is the author of Picture Dictionary (Flaming Giblet Press, 2014) and the chapbook Yours, (Dancing Girl Press, 2012). Kristen holds an MFA from the University of Notre Dame, where she was the Sparks Prize recipient in 2008. She is a co-founder and editor of the online literary magazine Menagerie where she publishes experimental language pieces.
She currently lives in Utah with her husband and son and their good old dog.
